Poly steel roller chains consist of polypropylene roller links (inside links) with stainless steel pin links (external links). This specialized combination of both materials creates a lightweight roller chain with superior resistance against corrosion and chemicals. The intuitive design also decreases the decibel noise levels compared to stainless steel. Poly steel chains are commonly used in food processing, medical equipment, pharisaical, low-temperature environments, and chemical processing. Something important to note is that poly-steel chains are designed and manufactured for light-duty applications and require no lubrication due to the acetal material having self-lubricating properties. The design also optimizes the transfer of energy from one point to another because of an ultra-low coefficient of friction on bearing surfaces and wear surfaces. Our process begins with molding the roller links, which is done by injecting high-quality polyacetal material into the mold. Then, we polish and clean the links for smoother operation. Next, we precisely stamp the sidebars and form the pins; these components are also polished.
