Nickel Plated Roller Chain

The process of plating a roller chain is not only intensive but delicate; if done incorrectly or to sub-par standards, it can create micro-cracks in the plating form larger ones and allow corrosion. At DUROCHAIN, we ensure each component is plated to perfection to extend the life of the anti-corrosive nickel surface. Our genuine tier-one ANSI and Metric nickel-plated roller chains are manufactured to precise tolerances and feature solid bushings and solid roller for the best performance and chain wear life! Nickel-plated chains are commonly used in corrosive applications ranging from gate operators to food processing. However, nickel chains are generally not rated for direct food contact per FDA compliance; they can be used in applications still exposed to washdown circumstances. An additional benefit of nickel-plated roller chains is that they do not require continuous lubrication to operate as plain carbon steel chains do. However, using a light mineral oil-based lubricant on these chains is recommended to extend wear life, but it is not necessary for operating the chain. Regarding anti-corrosive properties, nickel-plated chains maintain anti-corrosion more than zinc but less than a coated chain or stainless. They are designed for economical anti-corrosion over a specific time (refer to salt test results on the Corrosion Resistant Roller Chain category).

ANSI Nickel Plated Roller Chains

ANSI nickel-plated roller chains are dimensionally manufactured per American National Standards Institute B29.1 standards. Our standard lineup includes size 25 roller chains up to 120 roller chains, though larger-pitch sizes in duplex, triplex, and quad-strand configurations are also available upon request.

Metric Nickel Plated Roller Chains

Metric nickel-plated roller chains are dimensionally manufactured per ISO and British Standards. Our standard lineup includes size 06B roller chains up to 24B, though larger-pitch sizes in duplex, triplex, and quad-strand configurations are available upon request.
