Our 06B-2 chain is dimensionally made to ISO and British Standards, guaranteeing interchangeability with other brands. Although dimensionally standard, this chain is way above the standard regarding quality, strength, and performance. The DUROCHAIN 06B-2 chain has solid bushings, rollers, hardened pins, and unique quad-staked rivets, giving it the most capability possible out of its smaller form factor. Double-strand (duplex) roller chains consist of two single strands of roller chain that share the same pins and rivets; the elongated pin surface and double-strand configuration benefit from our specific hardened pins' and quad-staked rivets. Additionally, the solid bushing and roller configuration improves the chain wear life and overall performance; this is due to a cylindrical bearing surface with no splits that cause additional friction and drag. One of the most stressed components in a roller chain is the pins. Of course, this translates over to the connecting link of a chain. Here at DUROCHAIN, each pin in our connecting links undergoes a specific hardening process to improve wear life, strength, and fatigue resistance.

• Precision Solid Round Parts -

Drastically improving chain wear life and performance of transmitting energy, solid bushings and rollers provide perfectly cylindrical bearing surfaces. Solid round parts require special manufacturing equipment that most factories will not make the initial investment in; however, the improvements in wear life and performance versus a chain with split round parts outweigh these costs in the long run. The issue with a split bushing or a split roller is when a chain experiences shock load or is used for some time, the split components will begin to deform, causing excessive internal wear and friction. All of our standard mild-steel DUROCHAINs use these solid round parts except hollow pin chains. Additionally, our bushings are made from alloy steel hardened to a specific HRC; the rollers are made from SAE steel and hardened to a specific HRC as well. We have found that these specific hardnesses provide the best wear life possible for the material itself

By today's standards, almost all roller chains are pre-loaded to some extent; however, a specific percentage achieves the best balance of reducing stretch and improving wear life.
